Swap Related FAQs

How do I post a book for swapping?

You can easily list your book by signing in to your account and clicking on “Add Book.” Fill in the key details such as the title, author, edition, condition and subject area, to help others find exactly what they’re looking for. Don’t forget to upload a clear photo of your book’s cover; listings with good visuals attract quicker swaps and more interest from fellow students!

Do I have to pay to swap books?

No! There are no hidden fees or subscription costs associated with swapping books on NSW Bookshelf. If you and your swap partner decide to send your books via mail, the only expense you will have to pay is for delivery or postage. It's a cost effective and environmentally friendly solution to update your bookshelves without going over budget!

What if the book I receive isn’t in good condition?

Before finalising any book swap, we always encourage members to be truthful and communicate clearly with one another. To prevent confusion later, be sure to include precise information about the condition and edition of the book. But don't worry if there is a mismatch in expectations; our helpful support staff is always available to take over, assess the circumstances, and assist both parties in coming to a just and agreeable conclusion.
